Volunteer

Volunteers at Alberta Institute of Wildlife Conservation (AIWC) provide critical support to help rescue, rehabilitate, and release wildlife.  From keeping our facilities clean, to feeding a nest of baby birds every 15-minutes, and everything in between, our amazing volunteers make it happen and help save wildlife everyday.

In a typical year, 125 volunteers get involved, with the majority in our peak season of spring and summer. All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.

Many of these opportunities require the volunteer to make their way out to our site in Madden, Alberta, which is a 45-minute drive from Calgary city centre. There is no public transportation. Some opportunities, like writing for the newsletter, can be done from the comfort of your home.
